A man has been chased up a tree by a wild
boar as he walked near a zoo in Kent.
He had been heading along the approach road to Port Lympne Wild Animal Park, near Hythe when the boar charged at him. He climbed up a tree to escape the animal and used his mobile phone to call police for help. By the time officers arrived the boar had run off, leaving the shocked man up the tree. He was helped down and examined by paramedics, but found to be uninjured. A spokesman for Kent Police said: "I believe boars roam free in this area. They can be quite vicious." © Associated Newspapers Ltd., 12 September 1999 |
