- (LOS ANGELES) -- A baby chimp has been killed by other chimpanzees at the Los Angeles Zoo. Zoo Veterinarian Charles Sedgewick says two of the males were playing roughly with the four-month-old baby yesterday morning, and then stomped her to death. The mother chimpanzee was apparently too young and timid to stop them. Zookeepers describe the death of Little Toshi as an unavoidable accident. The baby chimp was born to one of the females, even though the males in the exhibit had all been given vasectomies. |
