SF police shoot pit bull after it bites woman ASSOCIATED PRESS SAN FRANCISCO -- Police shot and killed a pit bull early Saturday after it attacked a woman and her dog. The woman, whose name was not released, was walking her Akita past a neighbor's house when a pit bull jumped a backyard fence and attacked her and her dog. She was treated at San Francisco General Hospital for hand and wrist injuries, according to a fire department spokeswoman. Police shot and killed the pit bull when it lunged at an officer, San Francisco Animal Control Sgt. Judy Choy said. As many as 15 shell casings were found on the street after the incident. The pit bull's owner, Tyson Williams, said police overreacted. Choy said the same pit bull was picked up in January for roaming the neighborhood.
