DOG RIPS TEETH OUT OF TODDLER August 6, 2002 A GIRL of three had her teeth ripped out by a pitbull terrier in an attack yards from her home. The cross breed dog left Tracy Holmes covered in blood and screaming for help. Her mother Angela saw the animal clamp on to her daughter's face, ripping out two of her front teeth. The pitbull was lured away by food and the youngster taken to hospital with deep bites. Mum-of-five Angela said: "They took X-rays and sought advice from a specialist on treatment. "They had to remove another tooth because it was just hanging there and she was kept in overnight." Police, in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria, finally seized the dog yesterday, eight days after the incident, and will now apply to have the dog destroyed. But Tracy's grandad Thomas Barbour, 66, said the dog was still roaming the streets after the attack. He said: "What was it going to take for this dog to be destroyed - another child mauled or killed?
